Randall Door Order

Five Therma-Tru fiberglass doors: the front door from Burton Lumber, the other four from Sunpro (both in Logan). Check the swing on each diagram against the real opening, then tick it off.

The five doors

Each diagram is a bird's-eye view. The grey bars are the wall, the black dot is the hinge side, and the dashed arc shows which way the door opens. All five swing in.

Before ordering

  1. Tell both stores about the swing changes. Every door was quoted left-hand. The front and cold storage doors are now right-hand.
  2. Burton: reissue the quote with a current date (it still shows 10/16, expiring 10/17), switch hinges to matte black US19, say what color the sill is, and confirm the SDL grids come installed from the factory.
  3. Sunpro: confirm prices still hold (they were guaranteed on 11/03 only), and that the basement door is the S120 and cold storage the S100 (their quote shows only "2P Shaker" and "Flush").
  4. Pick the front handle set first. The factory drills the holes, and some handle sets and smart locks need a different layout.
  5. Garage door: ask the inspector if it must close by itself. If yes, order black spring hinges.
  6. Measure each wall to confirm the jamb depth, and check whether any door sits in stone or brick (brickmould may change).
  7. All five are special order and can't be returned.
